Will the police arrest me if I don’t have a mask on?

Police officers aren’t looking for people without masks.  They will respond to calls from employees, managers, or owners.

Police officers will first educate people about the importance of wearing a mask, and the need to comply with the ordinance.  Then, as always, they will use their discretion when they interact with the public.  Officers will take information, and decide what consequences may follow.

There are consequences, if the police determine a person has violated the mask ordinance.  The person may receive a municipal forfeiture of $10 plus court costs.  If the person engages in other unlawful conduct, then more serious consequences may follow.
