(GREEN BAY, WI)   The City of Green Bay is pleased to announce that we’ve reached a fundraising milestone in the effort to restore the Beach at Bay Beach.  “Bringing back swimming to Bay Beach is one of the most significant community campaigns in which I’ve participated.  Restoring this important natural and recreational area will impact our community for generations to come.  I am proud to lead this effort,” said Mayor Schmitt.

We will have a press conference to provide further details on:

We will be joined by the Green Bay Packers, Patrick Engineering and The Karma Group.  “The Packers are pleased to support Green Bay’s beach restoration at Bay Beach and we’re looking forward to sharing more details at Tuesday’s announcement,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.

The restoration of the Beach at Bay Beach has been a long-term goal of the City.  This $7 million project was made possible after receiving permits from the Department of Natural Resources.   With the funding nearly completed, construction is anticipated to begin in 2019.  The scope of the project is to install a 1,000 foot sand swimming beach, a 450 foot long pier, a new shoreline walkway, a concession stand and bathhouse, along with additional parking.
