[ARCHIVED] Temporary Closures of the Donald Tilleman and Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridges

The Green Bay Public Works Department is announcing the temporary closure of 2 bridges during the week of December 3rd.


The Donald Tilleman Bridge (Mason Street Bridge) will close for winter maintenance activities at 9 a.m. on Monday, December 3rd and open around noon that same day.


The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge (Main Street Bridge) will close to replace the traffic gates at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4th and open on Wednesday, December 5th.


Traffic Impacts


The Donald Tilleman Bridge will be closed west of the Fox River on West Mason Street at Ashland Avenue, and closed east of the Fox River on East Mason Street at Monroe Avenue. Mason Street traffic will be detoured across the Fox River over the Walnut Street Bridge via Ashland Avenue, Walnut Street, and Monroe Avenue.


The Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge will be closed west of the Fox River on Dousman Street at Broadway and closed east of the Fox River on Main Street at Washington Street. Main Street and Dousman Street traffic will be detoured across the Fox River over the Walnut Street Bridge via Broadway, Walnut Street, and Monroe Avenue. Motorists can also cross the Fox River using the Tilleman Bridge.


All street closures, detour, and work operations are weather dependent and subject to change. Motorists should anticipate backups and are encouraged to find alternate routes.
