What: In partnership with the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention, Mayor Schmitt will host Green Bay’s fourth annual Move with the Mayor walks. All are welcome to join the mayor each week as he walks with local celebrities on a 1.5 mile walk to fight the leading cause of death for Green Bay residents -- heart disease.
Who: Mayor Jim Schmitt and Mark Murphy, President and CEO of the Green Bay Packers
When: 11:55 a.m. on September 4, 2018
Where: The event will begin and end at City Hall, 100 N. Jefferson St. (corner of Walnut and Jefferson)
Why: Research has found walking as little as 30 minutes a day can significantly cut the risk of heart disease. The walk is part of a campaign developed by the city and the National Forum for Heart Disease & Stroke Prevention to encourage residents to walk with the Mayor for 30 minutes every Tuesday in September.
