(GREEN BAY, WI)– Green Bay Metro has partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to provide express service connecting the colleges. This service will give students an efficient service between both campuses and Downtown Green Bay. The pilot program will begin operating on Monday, August 20, 2018 to May 17, 2019.
The College Express route will operate Monday through Friday from 7:15am to 7:15pm with a bus leaving each campus every 30 minutes and making one stop at the Transit Center.
Patty Kiewiz, Director says “I’m excited for this new partnership. Eliminating transportation barriers is important to Green Bay Metro and is a vital service for our community!”
“Students come to UW-Green Bay because of our vibrant city which is enhanced by our unique co-programming with NWTC,” said Gary L. Miller, UW-Green Bay Chancellor. “This is an exciting partnership for our University community because it breaks some of the barriers for our students, faculty and staff. I believe this new transit line will increase the number of students downtown and enhance joint programming between UW-Green Bay and NWTC.”
“We are excited for this new opportunity for the NWTC campus community. The College Express linking NWTC, downtown and UW-Green Bay gives our college students a convenient and time-saving transportation option. Thank you to the Green Bay Transit team for improving access to college in Green Bay ” said Dr. Jeff Rafn, President of NWTC.
