Green Bay DPW Action Plan for Snow:
Green Bay-DPW conducted a plow operation today/Friday 1/27/23 beginning at 1:00 AM. Residential streets and alleys were cleared, and DPW is applying traction in residential routes. More snow (less than 1-inch) is forecast to begin this morning. DPW will address arterial streets with plows and salt as they are affected by snow and ice.
Tomorrow/Saturday begins a 10-day cold spell with wind chills dipping between the single digits to below zero. When temperatures drop that low, salt becomes much less effective at melting ice. Scraping ice is also difficult during cold spells. DPW will address winter road conditions to the best of its ability.
Please drive carefully and be prepared for low wind chills if you spend time outside.
