The City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is excited to once again host the annual Frenzy on the Fox event on Friday, January 13, 2023. This 5K run/walk/bike will take place for the 7th year to promote winter recreation as well as celebrate the plowing of the Fox River Trail during the winter season.
The Frenzy on the Fox will start and finish in the Adams Street Parking Lot. The event will start at 6:00 PM. Check-in and registration begins at 5:30 PM inside the former Koko Sushi Restaurant located next to Erbert and Gerbert’s at 226 N. Washington St.
“We can’t wait to see everyone come out on Friday night bundled up ready to walk, run or bike and to socialize pre- and post-event,” said Ann Moeller, Recreation Manager for the Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. “This year’s addition of live music, thanks to the sponsorship from ISG, is going to make this Friday night in January electric.”
Participants can come ready to walk, run or bike any distance they choose down the trail. The 5k mark is a suggestion as participants can feel free to continue along the trail past this point or turn around before. Music and refreshments will be located at the 2.5-mile turnaround point. All participants are invited to a post-race after-party including live music by Spark Spark Bang, Scrapyard Smokers food truck, and drinks at the beverage booth.
The City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department hosts this event in partnership with Brown County, Village of Allouez, Wello, Friends of the Fox River Trail and Downtown Green Bay, Inc.
Registration cost is $15 through Thursday, January 12th and $20 the day of the event. For media inquiries, please contact Ann Moeller with the City of Green Bay at (920) 448-3365 or Mario Gonzalez of Wello at mario@wello.org.
