Mayor Eric Genrich, City of Green Bay staff, and tourism event grant recipients will hold a press conference on January 3rd at 10:00 am at the KI Convention Center located at 333 Main Street, Green Bay, WI 54301 at the Sistine Chapel Exhibit.
The City of Green Bay is proud to announce the success of the ARPA Tourism Event Grant Program. The coronavirus pandemic dramatically impacted events and event venues in a very negative way. With that in mind, the Green Bay Common Council and Mayor Genrich approved $250,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding to support events and the organizations and venues that host them.
The ARPA Tourism Event Grant has supported a variety of events throughout the City of Green Bay, and more funds remain. “Community events are an important part of every vibrant city, including Green Bay,” said Mayor Eric Genrich. "The events supported by this program have brought thousands of people together to benefit local businesses and venues and added life and energy to the community.” The City has awarded 6 grants to date totaling $180,125.00, leaving $69,875.00 available for additional events in the new year.
The City of Green Bay Tourism Event Grant application is available on the City of Green Bay’s website: www.greenbaywi.gov/business.
