[ARCHIVED] 2021 Annual Report, Safe Walk & Bike Green Bay

(Green Bay, WI) The Safe Walk & Bike Working Group is pleased to release their 2021 Annual Report of accomplishments from the Green Bay Safe Walk & Bike Plan. This Plan, completed in 2019, was a collaborative effort between the City of Green Bay and Green Bay Area Public School District. It functions as both a Safe Routes to School plan and a Bicycle & Pedestrian plan.

Once the Plan was adopted by both the Green Bay City Council and the GBAPS School Board, the Safe Walk & Bike Working Group was established. This is a group of technical experts, non-profit agencies, elected officials, city staff, and school district staff committed to the implementation of the Plan.

The 2021 Annual Report reflects the accomplishments of this group, as well as the active implementation of the Plan. This report details achievements in the “5 E’s”: Engineering, Education, Encouragement, Enforcement, and Evaluation.

Highlights from 2021 include needed pedestrian upgrades at intersections, the addition of four Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons throughout the City, the addition of E-Scooters to the City, and another successful Frogger event.
