The City of Green Bay is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, agenda management system, web-based “Request for Service,” and portal for “Open Data.”The new website designed by CivicPlus, which can be found at our current URL www.greenbaywi.gov, will be more user-friendly and feature a modern design. Additionally our new website is fully Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, as well as usable by Google Translate. Through this new website, users will find many practical features such as our agenda management system, web-based Request for Service and a portal for Open Data.
The new agenda management system, CivicClerk, will allow members of the public, as well as board and commission members and alders, to research, manage, view and retain all agendas, minutes and attachments for all City of Green Bay meetings. Additionally, CivicClerk will feature videos of meetings which will be fully closed-captioned and therefore ADA compliant. With the launch of CivicClerk, the City has uploaded documents from the last 20 years.
The web-based Request for Service is a convenient tool for residents and businesses to report issues such as pot-hole filling, tree removal, long grass complaints, snow removal, inspection concerns, or any other city service that a resident or business-owner would require. Request for Service goes directly to the appropriate department for disposition.
The portal for Open Data brings the City of Green Bay squarely into the 21st century. City programmers have created a portal through which residents or businesses can search information by address. Linked to each address are important items such as parcel maps, police calls, property assessment, photos, inspection records, building project records, sanitation pickup day, neighborhood or policing district among other data sources.
Through an allocation of $125,000 from the Excess Stadium Tax, the City purchased new software which would enable us to enhance our transparency, better engage the community, and improve communication between government and residents or businesses. Importantly, members of the public can sign up for email notifications of press releases, GB Metro alerts, Department of Public Works alerts, Parks, Recreation and Forestry events, and notifications for upcoming meetings.
