 Local Non-Profits and Green Bay Packers Raise $1.2 Million for Community Response Fund

(Green Bay, WI)  Brown County United Way, the Green Bay Packers (Green Bay Packers Give Back fund) and the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation have created a fund to serve community members adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.   To date, the three organizations have funded over 55 local nonprofits with grants totaling more than $1.2 million.  All of the funds granted provide immediate support to area residents facing challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Among the areas of need being funded are:

  • Childcare
  • Food and health and hygiene items
  • Assistance for multicultural communities
  • Distance learning supports
  • Domestic violence services
  • Counseling/mental health services
  • Support for adults with special needs
  • Addiction recovery services
  • Remote workplace technology for nonprofits
  • Hospice services
  • Housing assistance
  • Transportation assistance

Individuals should call 2-1-1 for referrals, resources or information about the available assistance.  Please visit the 2-1-1 website for more information.  Persons may text “COVID19” to “211-211” to receive information about the virus.

Persons in immediate crisis should call the Crisis Center of Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin at 920-436-8888, for counseling support and community referrals.  Elderly persons or persons with a disability can call the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Brown County at 920-448-4300.
