[ARCHIVED] City of Green Bay Spring Loose Leaf Collection

City of Green Bay logo

The City of  Green Bay Department of Public Works will begin its spring curbside collection of loose leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings on Monday, April 6, 2020. This material should be placed out to the curb in separate piles (leaves/grass together and brush/branches together) and should not be co-mingled. Bagged or co-mingled material will not be picked up.

MAY 10, 2020 – DEADLINE FOR YARD WASTE ITEMS TO BE PLACED AT THE CURB FOR FINAL COLLECTION.

Yard waste placed to the curb after May 10 WILL NOT be collected by the City.

Residents are responsible for disposing of their own yard waste after May 10, or they will be assessed a fee for collection. Please see Yard Waste Drop-Off Center information below.

Please note that placing yard waste in the road itself is against City ordinance, and residents who do so will be subject to collection fees and/or fines.

Residents are reminded that raking leaves into the street increases pollution of storm water, may cause flooding by blocking drainage structures, and most importantly, piles of leaves in the street are a dangerous attraction to young children.

Please refrain from piling yard waste next to trees, poles, mailboxes, or other obstructions as this slows down collection crews and may cause damage to equipment or the obstruction.

YARD WASTE DROP-OFF CENTERS

The City of Green Bay Department of Public Works Yard Waste Drop-Off Centers are now open daily (including weekends & holidays) from 8 a.m. to sunset. These sites will remain open seven (7) days a week through the fall of 2020.

Residents may bring their loose leaves, grass clippings, and garden waste to either of the City’s two yard waste drop-off sites located at 2530 East Shore Drive on the east side and 1470 Hurlbut Street on the west side.

Contractor generated/collected yard waste debris is NOT acceptable at these sites or at the curb for City collection.

Further information may be obtained by calling the Department of Public Works – Operations Division at (920) 448-3535 or visiting the City’s website at www.greenbaywi.gov/publicworks.
