In anticipation of Small Business Saturday, the City of Green Bay Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is launching its own retail venture: the Green Bay Swag Shop. Featuring a dozen original designs, the e-commerce site will sell a variety of clothing items, home décor, stationery, and other accessories.
“We found limited opportunities for individuals to purchase City-inspired items in the marketplace,” said Development Director Kevin J. Vonck. “This is a fantastic way for us to continue to market the City and build a positive brand that reflects our community pride.”
Starting with a few dozen items, DCED will work on expanding its offerings based on consumer interest. “As we grow, we will continue to partner with more local artists to expand our offerings,” said Matt Buchanan, Economic Development Specialist.
The Green Bay Swag Shop can be found at: https://www.redbubble.com/people/GBSwagShop. A selection of items will also be on display in the former Schauer and Schumacher Building, located on the northwest corner of Walnut Street and Adams Street downtown.
The mission of DCED is to link and leverage our natural, built, human, and social assets in order to generate valuable products, services, and experiences within the City. We make our community more safe, accessible, productive, and innovative through strategic initiatives in which we convene and connect people, adopt and enforce policies, create and manage programs, and improve and enhance properties.
