Webster Avenue Opens
Green Bay, WI—Webster Avenue, from Radisson to University, will open to vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic on November 4, 2019. Webster Avenue, from the East River to Radisson Street, was a $13.3 million project funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the City of Green Bay. The Webster Avenue project consisted of upgrades and/or replacement of underground public utilities, and replacement of the concrete roadway. As part of the project, twenty-four houses were purchased and removed to widen the road, which will accommodate bicycles and pedestrians. Additionally the railroad crossing near Eastman Avenue was upgraded. The success of the project was dependent on significant coordination with several private utilities, businesses, contractors, consultants, the Green Bay Fire Department, Green Bay Metro, Department of Public Works, and Green Bay Water Utility.
