Green Bay Parks and Leadership Green Bay announce the launch of Wellness Wheels at Kids' Day

Green Bay Parks Department has partnered with Leadership Green Bay to create “Wellness Wheels.”  The “Wellness Wheels Trailer” is a customized and branded cargo trailer equipped with activities, equipment, and amenities that promote overall health & wellness in the community. Parks will utilize the Wellness Wheels year-round to increase activation of health and wellness themed events.  Specifically, the Wellness Wheels will:

•    Increase physical activity and promote healthy lifestyles

•    Support approximately 200,000 Green Bay youth who attend park programs and events

•    Enhance scheduled events and programs with equipment and services

Program sponsors and the Parks Department will cut the ribbon on the Wellness Wheels during the Kids’ Day Mayor’s Lunch, June 25, 2019 at noon.

Leadership Green Bay is a program of the Greater Green Bay Chamber.  Since 1985 Leadership Green Bay has been inspiring leaders to enrich the community through experiential learning and community-based activities.   Once a month, the Leadership Green Bay class gathers to learn about social issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the Green Bay area, and to gain exposure to relevant leadership education and skills. The program’s 1,200 alumni has completed more than 160 community projects, and provided more than $3.4 million in volunteer hours to the Greater Green Bay community. Wellness Wheel project sponsors are:  Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department, Camera Corner Connecting Point, WPS Foundation, PAi, Amerhart, Schreiber Foods, UWGB, Prevea, NWTC and Renco, our premier sponsor.
