Executive Streckenbach and Mayor Genrich Announce Shared Vision for Pulliam Power Plant Site

(Green Bay, WI) Today, Mayor Genrich and Executive Streckenbach signed a joint letter to WEC Energy group, detailing the city and county’s plans for the site of the Pulliam Power Plant. The letter describes a framework to relocate the C. Reiss coal piles to the mouth of the river and construct an intermodal transportation facility. The letter illustrates a shared vision for the site and associated economic development opportunities. 

“Green Bay mayors have hoped to relocate the city’s riverfront coal piles for decades,” said Genrich, “But for the first time, we are facing a realistic opportunity to move them to an exclusively industrial location, revitalize and activate nearly forty acres of waterfront property, and construct an intermodal transportation facility with a regional economic impact.” 

“Our region can take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring major economic development through our international port expansion,” says Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach.
