211 to help connect resources to flooded residents

Jared Preston, Director of Brown County Emergency Management along with Rob Goplin, Assistant Chief of Green Bay Metro Fire Department, have engaged 2-1-1 to help match volunteers with residents affected by the East River flood.

Anyone wishing to receive volunteer assistance should call 2-1-1 from any phone.

Volunteer Organizations wishing to lend a hand should also call 2-1-1 from any phone.

2-1-1 is a comprehensive source of local and human social services that provide information all throughout the United States.  2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  A local community resource specialist can help callers find resources and services such as: emergency information and disaster relief, services for veterans, food and nutrition programs, housing and utility assistance, support groups, addiction prevention and rehabilitation, re-entry help for ex-offenders, and a safe, confidential path out of domestic abuse.  Residents can also go to www.211.org  for more information.
