About the Commission
The Sustainability Commission is dedicated to the protection, stewardship, and improvement of the environment in the interest of the health, prosperity, and welfare of the Green Bay community for present and future generations.
- How appointed: appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Common Council
- Number of members: 9, including one alder and one employee member. Members should have a demonstrated interest or expertise environmental and sustainable practices.
- Length of terms: 36 months

Planned Natural Landscaping Registration
The City and Sustainability Commission finds it is in the public's interests to encourage diverse landscape treatments throughout the City, particularly those landscape elements that support the preservation, restoration, and management of native plant communities, healthy pollinator communities, and soil and water conservation.
Planned Natural Landscaping is a planned, intentional, and maintained area which may include, without limitation, trees, shrubs, and native plants, or vegetation associated with a rain garden.
Registration is required for Planned Natural Landscaping in the City of Green Bay, submit an online application.

The Sustainability Commission worked with Eland Electric to install solar panels in two different locations in the City of Green Bay.
