With a focus on business retention and expansion, Advance offers business assistance and consulting. And with its location in the Advance Business and Manufacturing (AB&MC), new and established entrepreneurs can access a wealth of resources geared to small business. This includes the Advance Business and Manufacturing Center (AB&MC) Incubator, also referred to as the business incubator, which gives businesses a chance to grow and succeed.

The local Green Bay Chapter of SCORE is part of a national nonprofit association dedicated to the formation, growth and success of the nation’s small business. SCORE volunteers serve as consultants to any type of small business.” Score provides free and confidential business counseling from experts in areas of accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation. Each experience is tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. SCORE also offers workshops and seminars on a variety of topics to help entrepreneurs successfully grow their business.

The Small Business Development Center offers a full range of business seminars and workshops for both established businesses and start-up companies. The seminars offer excellent value; fees cover the cost of materials and instruction.

E-Hub

E-Hub works with individuals exploring opportunities in entrepreneurship, business ready-to-launch or existing businesses needing to reboot. Entrepreneur Center has been recognized nationally as a leading model in accomplishing these goals and developing entrepreneurs.  E-Hub provides motivational workshops and mentoring services, along with educational services for people interested in becoming entrepreneurs.

Downtown Green Bay Inc. & Olde Main Street Inc.

Downtown Green Bay Inc. and Olde Main Street, Inc. (DGBI/OMSI) are non-profit Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) organized to preserve and to improve the social and economic climate in downtown Green Bay and Olde Main Street District. They support businesses located in the districts by acting as a resource for business start ups, location services, networking opportunities and other economic development projects. DBGI and OMSI also sponsor many public events that bring hundreds of people to the downtown yearly. Their focus is helping businesses on the east side of the Fox River mostly in the central business district.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is a one-stop shop for information and resources, both technical and financial, on starting and growing a business in Wisconsin. The site assists with Entrepreneurs and Start-up businesses, Business Growth and Retention, Minority and Women Owned Businesses, Regulatory Assistance and Advocacy, Community Economic Resources, Tax Credit Programs, Technology Business Development, Agribusiness, and Diesel Idling Reduction Grants.

On Broadway Inc (OBI)

On Broadway, Inc. (OBI) is a non-profit organization formed in 1995 through a grassroots effort to improve the declining Broadway District and create a vibrant downtown community. The Broadway District is boarded by Mather St. on the north, Mason Street on the south, Ashland Avenue on the west and the Fox River on the east.  OBI is a Main Street Program that follows the five-point approach to revitalization that includes Design, Economic Restructuring, Marketing, Organization and Promotional Events. Each of these areas is overseen by a committee made up of volunteers from the community who meet once a month and work with staff, district businesses, and other volunteers to accomplish projects.

Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA)

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) offers innovative products and services in partnership with others to link Wisconsin residents and communities with affordable housing and economic development opportunities. WHEDA works closely with lenders, developers, local government, nonprofits, community groups and others to implement its low-cost financing programs. WHEDA works with developers to support economic development and agriculture through small business guarantee programs and New Market Tax Credits.

SBA’s mission is to help small businesses start, grow, and compete in global markets by providing quality training, counseling, and access to resources. SBA offers a variety of loan programs for very specific purposes. The Section 7(a) Loan Program includes financial help for businesses with special needs. The SBA 504 Loan program offers small businesses financing through participating lenders for business growth and job creation. The Microloan Program provides small, short-term loans for working capital, purchase of inventory, supplies, furniture, fixtures, machinery or equipment.
