On August 1, 2007, I became your Green Bay Municipal Judge and vowed to work hard as your public servant. Serving the City of Green Bay is an honor and I welcome you to this website.
Green Bay Municipal Court represents the judicial branch of government and handles all citations issued by the Green Bay Police Department, Fire Department, Inspection Department and Department of Public Works for traffic and non-traffic ordinance violations. The primary function of the Green Bay Municipal Court is to administer justice and hold individuals accountable for their actions when found guilty of these ordinance violations. The Court also aggressively pursues collection of unpaid fines.
Some of the Court’s ongoing programs include:
Truancy Court at School: Court is held at East, West, Preble and Southwest high schools on a rotating basis. We handle truancy cases while the student is in school. Information to the court regarding these cases has significantly increased with the attendance of students, parents, school assistant principals, counselors and School Resource Officers who attend the hearings.
Contributing to Truancy: In our attempts to address truancy issues, a focus is being made on parents who contribute to their child not attending school. Parents who fail to see that their child attends school are issued citations and held accountable for their actions.
Single Arrest Warrant Process: The Court holds Good Cause/Indigency hearings prior to issuing warrants for failing to pay a fine. This saves police officer time, provides faster accountability, and decreases paperwork.
Records and Warrants on-line: Green Bay Municipal Court Records and Warrants may be viewed on this website by clicking on “Municipal Court Records and Warrants”.
Extension Policy: Defendants must make a good faith effort in paying fines before receiving an extension.
Tax Refund Interception Program (TRIP): The Court pursues collection of all unpaid fines and warrants through the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s Tax Refund Interception Program.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve the City of Green Bay as Municipal Court Judge. I look forward to your continued support as we embrace the opportunities and tackle the challenges of our community, both today and in the future.
