Sex Offender Information

The city regulates how closely certain sexual offenders can be to schools, parks, and day care centers; this is called the proximity ordinance (See GBMC 27.621).  Offenders are exempt from the proximity ordinance for certain listed reasons, but there is no appeals board.

The city also regulates how closely certain sexual offenders can reside to schools, parks, and day care centers; this is called the residency ordinance (See GBMC 27.622).  Offenders are exempt from the residency ordinance for certain listed reasons, including the ability to seek an exemption from the sexual offender residency board.  An offender wishing to seek an exemption from the board must submit an application: Sex Offender Residency Application
