The Green Bay Public Art Commission is searching for artists to bring a unique public art piece to the city. Through a generous donation from the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Foundation, the Commission will task an artist with creating a work that embodies Green Bay’s sense of place.
The sculpture can be up to 25ft x 25ft in size, must contain lighting or electrical elements, and is encouraged to be interactive for viewers. The future home of this sculpture is located on the corner of N. Washington Street and Northland Avenue. Further parameters for the sculpture can be found in the request for proposal.
Applicants are welcome to submit their proposal ideas for the sculpture until December 31st, 2017. Following the deadline, the members of the Green Bay Public Art Commission will select the chosen artist to create and install the piece. The sculpture is anticipated to be completed this upcoming summer.
The request for proposal can be found on the Green Bay Public Art Commission’s webpage at: http://greenbaywi.gov/pac/
Application deadline is December 31st, 2017. Any questions can be directed to the Public Arts Coordinator, Laura Schley. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Phone: 920-448-3142.
