New Construction

New construction designs shall be compliant with all State Codes and Municipal Codes. Relative to plan review and permitting, the City of Green Bay is in compliance with State ACT 211 and requires all applications to be initiated online. You can view the Act 211 Instructions (PDF) and visit the ACT 211 Application Site. Be sure to follow the Act 211 Instructions and submit paperwork to City Hall in Room 608.

Alterations/Repairs

The following projects require a floor plan and/or building plan submission:

  • Basement remodeling
  • Interior alterations changing floor plan
  • Stoop, stairs, ramps smaller than 25 square feet, landing
  • Structural alterations

The following projects require a project description:

  • Fireplace or chimney
  • Foundation repair
  • Moving buildings
  • Roofing
  • Siding
  • Window/Door replacement
  • Wrecking buildings
