The City of Green Bay Department of Public Works will begin its spring curbside collection of loose leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings on Monday, April 11, 2016. This material can NOT be placed to the curb prior to Saturday, April 9, 2016. Yard waste placed to the curb before April 9, 2016 is subject to collection fees.
Loose leaves, garden waste, and grass clippings should be placed out to the curb in separate piles and should not be co-mingled. Bagged material or co-mingled material will not be picked up.
Collection will continue for five (5) weeks and end on Friday, May 13, 2016. All leaves and yard waste left for collection must be out to the curb no later than 7:00 am on Monday, May 9. After May 13, residents must dispose of their own yard waste. Yard waste left at the curb after May 13, 2016 is subject to collection fees.
Residents are reminded that raking leaves into the street increases pollution of storm water, may cause flooding by blocking drainage structures and most importantly, piles of leaves in the street are a dangerous attraction to young children.
Please refrain from piling yard waste next to trees, poles, mailboxes or other obstructions as this slows down collection crews and may cause damage to equipment or the obstruction.
