City of Green Bay and Fox River Hospitality, LLC have finalized the transfer of the former Clarion Hotel property as of this afternoon. With today’s recording of the warranty deed and transfer of $2.7 million, the contractual obligations set forth in the August 15th land contract are complete. Fox River Hospitality and American Hospitality Management will move ahead with turning the former Clarion Hotel into a fully remodeled Hampton Inn to open along with the KI Convention Center later this year.
“This is the perfect hotel type to compliment the KI Convention Center, Hyatt and Northland Hotel,” said Mayor Schmitt. “The renovated hotel will serve the business traveler as well as tourists with Hampton quality and service.”
The 135 room Hampton Inn in downtown Green is owned by Fox River Hospitality, LLC and operated by American Hospitality Management, Inc., with Donald Schappacher being the principal owner of these entities. The hotel will feature the latest Hampton Inn design standards, complimentary breakfast bar, business center, meeting room, indoor swimming pool and fitness center. An optimal mix of room types, including king, two double beds and suites will appeal to corporate travelers, convention attendees and leisure travelers with families. Additionally, the development will include approximately 11,000 square feet of adjacent space to the hotel that may be available for potential tenants to build out for restaurant and retail use.
“We are pleased to have completed this complicated transaction,” said Schappacher. “While there were many unique components that took some additional time, the people from the City of Green Bay have been great to work with and extremely helpful in getting all of these issues resolved. We are excited to have ownership in Green Bay and specifically downtown with all of the new development, the renovated and expanded KI Convention Center and all of the development to come in the future.”
