Mayor Jim Schmitt will be welcoming Stihl Tour des Trees during a tree planting ceremony at the 9/11 World Trade Memorial located near the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay on Thursday, July 31at 8:00 a.m.
The STIHL Tour des Trees is a weeklong, 500-mile Wisconsin cycling tour with an ambitious agenda to promote the mission of the Tree Research Education and Endowment Fund (Tree Fund). Tree plantings and community engagements are hallmarks of every Tour. This year the group will be planting a tree at the 9/11 World Trade Memorial as part of their awareness program before continuing on to Door County. Mayor Schmitt will assist the cyclists during the ceremony which is expected to begin at 8:00 am on Thursday, July 31, 2014.
