Jeff Jansen, Green Bay resident who shared water with two neighboring homes this winter
|WHAT:||Media event where Green Bay officials will formally thank water service customers for sharing water with their neighbors this winter.|
|WHERE:||1201 Richardine Ct., Green Bay
|WHEN:||Monday, April 21 at 11 a.m.|
|WHY:||This winter’s unusually cold temperatures froze water service for hundreds of Green Bay residents. Over the course of this winter, more than 80 homes received shared water, and 18 homes shared water with their neighbors for several weeks straight. Typically, one or two homes share water through hoses each year, and usually, only for a day or two.|
|DETAILS:||Jeff Jansen, the homeowner of 1201 Richardine Ct., allowed Green Bay Water Utility to connect a hose from his outside spigot to two neighboring homes when their water service lines froze this winter. Officials from Green Bay Water Utility and the City of Green Bay will thank Jeff and present him with a Good Neighbor Award certificate for stepping up to help his neighbors in a time of need.
